Burndown Video Battle: Which Is Better? WJ vs Geoffrion or Garlits vs Carbone? You Decide.

Burndown Video Battle: Which Is Better? WJ vs Geoffrion or Garlits vs Carbone? You Decide.

The other day we got a submission from my dad of a great YouTube video showing Warren Johnson and Scott Geoffrion in an epic burndown on the starting line at Houston during the 1994 Slick 50 Nationals, where they did not one but two burndowns and got kicked out of the beams once! Buster Couch was one pissed off dude, and yelled at both of them for it. It was epic Pro Stock action, with WJ taking the win. The video, which features the dynamic duo of drag racing announcers, Dave McClelland and Steve Evans, is awesome. This got Brian and I thinking about another epic burndown, the #17 Biggest Moment in NHRA History Carbone vs Garlits burndown at the 1971 U.S. Nationals. Unfortunately there is no video of this one, although we do have the NHRA Greatest Moments video with photos for you to check out. Clearly one of these is more famous than the other, but which do you think it more impressive?

CLICK PLAY TO WATCH BOTH VIDEOS AND THEN LET US KNOW WHICH ONE YOU THINK IS BEST IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW

May get hate responses for this but NEVER cared for WJ his response at the after race interview was so typical. “That kid needs to learn how to drive a Racecar” Well WJ he left on you, like you were tied to a pole. Sigh feel better now.

Hey old man, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Haha! I watched the video and in my head I said ‘Self, do you think this is why your pop doesn’t like WJ very much?” And who should I find in the comments? Hahaha!

The WJ thing was a 1 round pissin contest. It was pretty funny to see Buster back ’em out though.

The Gar-Carbone thing was for all the marbles and Carbones win helped extended the life of diggers for another year or so.

    I vote for Gar-Carbone.
