We were just out in the desert testing a cool new truck we’ll be able to tell you about in the coming weeks, but what we can tell you is that it’s a riot driving across the desert at speed. This video from the guys at IHI Motorsports shows them doing some testing with their 2013 Baja 1000 Trophy Truck and it’s killer. Not only do you get a good sensation for the speed involved, but also the amazing amount of suspension travel that comes with it. This truck is equipped with some huge Fox Racing Shox and they are getting a work out for sure.
We’ve been making plans to bring back our $200 Hauler project with a lot more focus on the pre-runner/chase truck look and performance, and after getting some time in the truck in the desert we can tell you that we are excited. It’s a riot. And even though we were only going 65-70 mph, it was awesome. We would love to do more than 100 because the adrenaline level must go through the roof.
Check out this video, and pay attention to the way the truck stays pretty smooth to the horizon while the wheels and tires are following every nook and cranny in the terrain. It’s impressive. At about 2 minutes into the video the front suspension is the focus and it’s impressive as hell. Watching the shocks, springs, and control arms move is amazing.
