I’m making this call for Brian, even though he’s never said he actually wanted to drive this thing. But since it was the first and only diesel powered Indy Car to qualify on the pole, and it was the very first Indy car OF ANY KIND to be equipped with a Turbocharger, I think he’ll agree. The Cummins #28 set a new Indy 500 record in 1952 at 138.010 miles per hour with Fred Agabashian behind the wheel and went almost 140 mph on his first lap.
