Video: Chasing The Dream: Dick Eytchison Does More With More… Doors That Is…

We’ve been watching Dick Eytchison drive his super cool Crew Cab Chevelle for the last couple years, and if you pulled up next to this thing on Mulholland while driving something Italian, you’d probably lose. And that fact that the roll bar is pretty hidden and the wheels are the only thing that hints at its performance potential, only plays into Dick’s hand as the 68 year old looks as unassuming as his car. Don’t let the look fool you.

The guys at Hotchkis recently completed a video on Dick’s passion for his car, his family, and racing. His ’65 Crew Cab Chevelle  has got a ZZ383 crate engine backed by a Tremec trans, and the 9-inch rear is suspended by a catalogs worth of Hotchkis TVS suspension parts, as is the front end. An AGR quick steering box makes the turns quicker, and big Baer brakes are hidden behind the CCW Wheels wrapped in Falken rubber. All this ads up to real strong acceleration and even better braking. Combine all these parts and this is one quick crew cab Chevelle whether dodging cones on the autocross, tearing up a road course, or carving canyons and freeway on ramps. Dick and his wife Karen drive this thing like mad, are truly awesome people, and a pleasure to be around. They sound like great hot rodders don’t you think?
