Kent Fuller is a living legend in the world of chassis fabrication. He’s built hundreds of chassis, including those that have taken the legendary drivers of the sport on to championships. He’s also saved several of their lives with innovations and developments that have changed drag racing forever. He’s a hot rodder, and has been featured in every magazine known to man for one or another of his prized hot rods. He’s a welder, a historian, a friend, a father, and a grandfather. He’s an inspiration.
This is his last car.
His goal is to run 300 mph with it.
This is one of the hands that has spent decades building it, from scratch, out of hand rolled steel, to form a monocoque chassis with only one purpose. To go real fast, real straight, for 5 miles.
This is the grandson that inspired him to finish it, by walking into the kitchen and slapping $400 on the dinner table. He’d earned it washing cars all summer, and wanted his grandfather to use it to finish the streamliner.
Thanks to 282 folks on Kickstarter, Kent’s goal of raising $32,900 has been realized. With $35,957 raised, we can’t wait to see them at Bonneville. Will they set a record? Maybe. Will he inspire his grandson, and the rest of us to try? Definitely.
Good luck Kent. We’ll be there watching.
