Watch This T-Bucket Run 6’s In The 8th: Driver Wearing Shorts And A T-Shirt. Brilliant!

By now all of you know how much I hate T-Buckets, which has been the subject of many “spirited” discussions between Brian and I. Well, here is a video of some dude in his 1927 T-Bucket running 6.90s at 97 mph in the 1/8th mile while wearing shorts and a t-shirt. The bad thing is I’m sort of impressed by the performance of this thing compared to the normal brass adorned T-Buckets you see at every show in the country. I say bad because every fiber of my being wants to not like it. The redemption I get is from the fact that this guy clearly doesn’t plan on propagating the T-Bucket loving species since he’s driving this thing wearing shorts and a t-shirt. And to even further his lack of genetic prowess, he decides to make his last pass sans helmet since he already knows just how fast this thing really is.

The last one is a different shirt, so I think probably another guy driving… and safety tips from Chad? Tell the truth, are you wearing flip flops right now? Caught anything on fire lately in the shop? 🙂

Chad, thats not a T buckek. Henry Ford did not build that body. It’s a portable “Outhouse”.
Built by a non Ford guy.
If you weren’t such a young kid you might know the difference.
I’ll try to help you learn the difference if you are interested.

Sorry all! I felt it best to remove the video (and a few others). Chad and others are correct in the fact we were very unsafe doing what we did back in 2011. We knew and know better, but just got caught up in the moment, still it was/is stupid. We certainly do not advocate this type of unsafe racing and we love the sport of drag racing enough to not put the local tracks in a bad light any more than they are already. Today we race at our local tracks around SC/NC, but we have a 23 Altered that is track only and with all the full safety gear, belts, helmets, fire suit, etc… This is one of many rods we have built and actually own another 23 T that is much quicker than this one, scary fast on the street. Our current project is a 47 Ford bracket/pro street car. In short, the only thing 27 about this is a few pieces of the frame. The body is completely home made and barely modeled after a 27 truck. It is certainly a very fast rod on the street, but not a race car by any means. Merry Christmas!

You are so interesting! I do not think I’ve read through
something like that before. So wonderful to find somebody with genuine thoughts on this subject matter.
Seriously.. thanks for starting this up. This site is one thing that is needed on
the web, someone with a little originality!
