Sticking one Ford small-block inside a Mitsubishi L300 van is tricky enough. The L300 is a tiny little cube of a van meant to meet Japanese vehicle size laws and in no way was meant to be a powerhouse of any kind. One V8 would make the normally placid Mitsu quite lively. But picture two Ford V8s sat side-by-side next to each other, with matching transmissions, hooked to a Frankenstein of a rear axle, complete with two ring-and-pinion sets, with one engine driving one wheel apiece. How much money would it take you to get into the driver’s seat, strap up and stand on the fun pedal? You couldn’t pay us nearly enough, but the creation exists in …where else?… Australia! Since one thing this repowered Mitsubishi would be good for is the quick and painful death to any tire that winds up mounted on one of the wheels, burnout contests are a no-thought-required deal.
