For decades, car and truck shoppers have relied on the testing that MotorTrend does for their Car and Truck of the Year competitions. The cars and trucks that are included have a pretty substantial battery of tests they go through in order to win, but they are not being compared against each other. The trucks that were in the competition for the 2025 model year, were all tested against each of the criteria on their own and given a total score. Whichever truck had the higher score was the winner. And for 2025, the winner of MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year is the RAM 1500.
With some pretty specific features that set it apart from the rest, and gave it an edge in testing, the RAM 1500 took the top spot.
