We hear the term “barn find” thrown around all the time now, but how about basement finds? Yep, this is a whole collection of old GM Muscle Cars that have been stored for at least 15 years on the basement of an old furniture store building and we dig it! Man this would be cool stuff to walk around and check out. Can you imagine getting a private tour of this stuff? Well, you kind of get one here thanks to the fine folks at Auto Archaeology. We’re not sure of the exact location, which we understand, but we’re told this collection is somewhere in Illinois.
Because the cars have been stored in this furniture factory basement, the humidity and temperature have been stable and that means these cars have been preserved very well. We’re glad, because some of them are pretty rare pieces that should be taken care of. Like we said, we would really dig a tour of these, but the Auto Archaelogy guys have done a good job showing them off so we at least feel good about that. Take a look at the video below and see what you think.
And let us know which car is the one you’d most like to see in your garage.
You think they’d be able to afford a decent camera so it doesn’t appear that you’re looking at them through a fish bowl. Sheesh………
I’m glad to see they are being kept indoors but if they are in the business of restoring cars and those have all sat for ten to fifteen years I don’t see how they’ll ever get to them. Mixed emotions on this one.
Nice discovery.
Using a sober person to shoot the find would have been easier on my stomach.
Takes me back to my Navy years.
