If you have never been to a truck and tractor pull then you really are missing out on something. They are way different than anything else you’ll see racing, but there is something about them that is just awe-inspiring. Lohnes once wrote that if he was forced to pick a favorite category in pulling, the semis would likely be it, just because of the size, the power level, and the very clear illustration of torque they display when hiking the left front and carrying it down course.

Balance is so important in pulling. Even with vehicles that are the better part the size of the average American home, you need to make sure that the weight transfer to the rear axles is managed, you need to be able to steer, and most of all, you really need to get all you can early on in the hook to get the load moving and carry it as far as possible off the end.
