Sleeper Warning: Some Of Europe’s Well-Hidden Ego Killers!

The sleeper: the machine you’d never suspect could wipe the floor with whatever is running alongside it. It shouldn’t launch like a cruise missile on nitrous. It shouldn’t make a Lamborghini Murciélago look second-rate in a roll race. And it certainly shouldn’t stomp a Ferrari 458 Italia off of a dig. The whole sleeper act is a difficult one to pull off properly. A lot of people simply equate having a fast shitbox with owning a sleeper. it can work that way, but it doesn’t have to. The Audi S4 that squares off a Bugatti Chiron on a runway drag race isn’t a sleeper in the normal sense on it’s own, but when that S4 keeps pace with the Chiron, a monster of a machine designed to handle 250 plus miles per hour with the ease of flipping a light switch, then you have a sleeper, one that’s playing the game just as hard as the Lada that can kick the teeth of a Nissan GT-R in at will.

An LS-swapped Ford Fairmont that’s wearing a coat of neglect with it’s paint and has two bottles of Mister Nozz’s Go-Go Juice in the trunk is one thing. But when a Volvo puts your supercar in it’s place firmly, that’s when you have a really potent machine on your hands. We dig the creativity these machines bring to the table!
