For years now, Australians have made it very clear that Americans just can’t do a proper burnout. They do theirs on a skidpad and it looks like ballet with blowers on top, while for the most part we tend to roast the tires off at a standstill. We at BangShift love Aussie-type burnouts and we’ve made that clear over the years with all of the footage we’ve shown. So when we discovered this footage from Edge O’Dells’ burnout contest, we knew that the Internet had finally started to influence hot rodders here in the States for the better.
Edge O’Dells is a 21-and-older bar and resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin that looks like an absolute riot. Hey, anywhere that builds a burnout pit and lets people try their skill is fine by us! Take your pick, it’s all here: from diesels to imports, late-model and classics, hell there’s even a Geo Tracker getting in on the fun! This might be the most accurately-sized burnout pit in the U.S. outside of the Powercruise event at Brainerd, and we hope to see more of them pop up across the country!
uh… would it be overly bitchy of me to observe that the majority of cars who could actually do a half decent burnout were Monaro’s? (oh, sorry, `GTOs’) Nah all stirring aside good onya guys, getting there. You gotta admit, its a bit more of a spectacle than seeing a car chained on a steel pad between two concrete blocks….
