It took a coordinated effort of a couple of Canadians, six YouTube channels’ worth of second-tier judging, and the suggestions of hundreds of people from around the world who wanted to show their junk to the Internet for judging. After the Deboss Garage guys realized that their first attempt garnered a bunch of photos they didn’t want, they asked for cars and trucks instead and offered up six categories that weren’t your usual “Best Of!” categories.
With the help of Regular Car Reviews, Sarah -n- Tuned, Vice Grip Garage, Bad Obsession Motorsports, The Skid Factory and Zip Ties ‘n Bias Plies, the initial field of 25 semi-finalists were whittled down to six finalists. From that listing, the judges were asked to rank their favorites in their chosen order, and points were assigned to cars based on where each judge placed each car in the order. Filthy Rich and BlackJack’s votes would deal with any possible tie that could happen, and now, after a couple of weeks’ worth of work and plenty of really neat rides to choose from, the winners have been chosen. The Top 3 were selected, the top “Megaboss” award was chosen, and the winner of “most bleeps in an awards speech” was shipped to the voice behind Zip Ties ‘n Bias Plies. We’ve heard that he might replace Ricky Gervais for the next Academy Awards, supposedly because he’d be less offensive to the Hollywood elite.
This is the first show that they’ve put together and honestly, it’s been fun to watch. Not so much for the cars we put in, but fun nonetheless. We’ve heard that they might change up the judges for the next go-’round. Surely, there’s got to be a category we can judge?
