I’ll call myself out. When it comes to photography, I’m a hack who uses his knowledge of how vehicles operate and how drivers should work to get good photographs. I admire those who are skillful in the craft of actual, honest photography. I’ve taken lessons from many people over the years to make my photographs better and better. But looking at those who do this for a living, there are people who I look up to and aspire to be at some point maybe be as good as someday. Larry Chen is one of those people. He’s good…damn good. He’s one of the best in the business, without a doubt. He can pull gorgeous photographs out of thin air, it seems. He’s always traveling, always ready on the trigger with his kits.
For 2019 (and for the 100th episode of his show on Hoonigan) Larry put together a list of what he feels is are his best shots of 2019. From gorgeous wide shots to action snaps that require top-tier knowledge to make happen, anything in Chen’s catalog is worth a long, detailed look…but when the man himself says that these are the bests, you really want to take a look.
