The Mighty Car Mods Are Doing A Cheap Car Challenge…And Marty Might Have Shot Himself In The Foot With His Choice. Yikes.

While we are probably still a ways away from seeing the Roadkill/Mighty Car Mods episode that both sides have agreed to, it seems that Marty and Moog are getting prepared for what Freiburger and Finnegan could potentially have in store for them. Their current deal is a cheap car challenge: the car must be turbocharged and cost less than $3,000, and cannot be a car that they have owned before. Once both hosts have their cars, they will take on fan-sourced challenges to see who wins…because leaving your fate in the hands of The Internet is the right thing to do.

MCM Marty's Lancer

On this episode of Mighty Car Mods, we are introduced to Marty’s car…and wow, did he sink low for this one. His vehicle is a 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer three-door that would feel right at home on the set of 2 Fast 2 Furious. Don’t get excited by the “Lancer” tag…it’s the same car Mitsubishi sold here as the Mirage, and it’s a royal disappointment. It is turbocharged, and that was done well enough, but the rest of the car is so riced out that it’s comical, from the pink leather interior and matching AutoMeter Monster tach to the cheap expensive-looking wheels on rubber band tires…this is awful. Hood gauges that don’t work, Altezza taillights, a bodykit by Tupperware, and the interior is like looking at the “before” picture on a Lysol commercial. But Marty is confident he’s made a good choice. It’s good to be confident in something, true, but we will reserve judgement until we see the pile that Moog drags in. Please, man…there has to be a Barra-powered Ford out there for decent money!
