The Parting Shift: Whiplash in a 4-speed Stock Eliminator Nova!

The Parting Shift: Whiplash in a 4-speed Stock Eliminator Nova!

Check this out! During a charity event, they allow a passenger to ride along in a 4-speed, 283 powered, 11 second Nova. The Stock Eliminator car was a few hundred pounds over weight, but still managed to run quick enough to just about snap this guys neck! At 55 seconds in you won’t believe how far back his head snaps on the dry hop. It’s awesome.

And while we would love to make fun of the guy for his inability to control his melon, we are actually jealous and want a ride ourselves. Stick cars on the drag strip rule, and rowing gears makes everything feel faster. Also of note: There is no clutch foot action going on during the run. In Stock Eliminator, you can’t run a clutchless trans. Watch the driver yank like a mad man. We love that because we’ve always said that you just need to think about the clutch as you shift, you don’t actually have to use it.

Watch and enjoy!
