Think Six-Cylinder Mustangs Are Worthless? This Pressurized, Barra Six-Powered Ford Mustang Might Change Your Mind!

Think Six-Cylinder Mustangs Are Worthless? This Pressurized, Barra Six-Powered Ford Mustang Might Change Your Mind!

It’s the golden rule of Mustang ownership: if it has a six-cylinder under the hood, just keep on walking, that’s not the one you want. Doesn’t really matter the year, doesn’t really matter what engine it is. If six pistons are involved, it’s instantly one of the following adjectives: “cute”, “underpowered”, “a great car for your sister”, or many more that are worse. While turbo-four Mustangs have had respect for years, six-cylinder cars are seen as a Mustang with it’s nuts cut off…it’s missing two of something, which made it too tame and gentle for any real gearhead. Right?

Yeah…the Australians would like to have a word with you about that, specifically one Jordan Scott. His S197-era Mustang, “30PSI2FRY”, is a six-cylinder, true…but unlike the lethargic lump that it came with, his pony is packing a local treat, the Barra Six. An inline-six with a turbo, about the only thing it shares with the Cologne V6 normally found in this generation of Ford is the 4.0L displacement. In stock form, a V6 Mustang from the mid-2000s is adequate at best. This one isn’t just adequate, it’s pissed off. It’s a popping, flame-throwing middle-finger that is plenty capable of creating fun, havoc and tire stripes. Check it out!

I thought there might be a quarter mile run in that vid. That stupid tire shredding performance is fun to watch? or to be in the car? I must be some kinda feckin’ square cause I don’t get it. Looks like waste of a great power set-up
