Anyone who has seen a Ring Brothers built hot rod knows they don’t do anything half assed. In fact they have taken themed hot rods and muscle cars to a new level in recent years and continue to push the envelope. One of their latest projects, the BAILOUT 1966 Mustang Fastback, was built with on track performance as important as good looks. In an effort to make the most out of their suspension, brakes, and wheel/tire combo, Jim Ring and the gang worked with AFCO to make sure AFCO’s new Pro Touring Elite Monotube shocks were on board this little evil beast.
When we rolled into the Goodguys Nashville Nationals a couple weeks ago, Jim Ring was on the roster of cars expected to run around the autocross, and we were quite frankly a bit surprised. More often than not, the most high end builders are less than willing to fully commit to making a quick lap in one of their cars. Not so this weekend. Jim, along with Brian Finch, made several runs at the autocross and beat on it pretty hard. With some fine tuning and support from the guys at AFCO the times dropped steadily throughout the day. The staff at Ring Brothers told us that this car has gotten them hooked, and that you can expect more AFCO equipped rides to be coming out of the shop and onto a racetrack near you. Until then, check out the video from Nashville below.
