Watch This Toyota Hilux Make The Run-Up Of The Decade Before Tackling A Huge Dune!

Saying a Toyota Hilux is a decently capable truck is a perfectly acceptable statement. They are made well, can take a beating like few other vehicles can, and are world-renowned for their toughness. In fact, if there is one area where the Hilux is actually weak at, we’d have to take aim at the power plants. It’s not that they are bad…the diesels are torquey, and even the base four-banger does it’s best to make an argument for itself, but honestly, speed is not what these trucks were made for. They were made to haul things around with. The driver of this Hilux, however, never got that memo and instead found a dune that could qualify as a mountain in a few countries. In a sandrail or on a quad, that would be a riot. In a trophy truck, it would probably equate to a flight lesson. In a late-1990s or early 2000s Hilux, this should be at least a stuck truck, if not a horrifying trip. But the driver of this truck isn’t worried. Apparently “When in doubt, throttle down” translates well, because the engine is wound up tight and this truck is making a break for the crest at wide freaking open. The extra speed might carry him a bit further up the dune, but with the regular engine running regular street tires, just how far can this Toyota go?

(Thanks to Charles Wickam for the tip!)
