It started out with an innocent question: “Can I borrow the car?” Since you knew that your parents wouldn’t fall for that line of crap, you went to your grandparents. You said that you and a couple of friends wanted to take a trip out to the country, and see the sights. You promised to make sure the gas tank was full when you returned it and that you would spray it off at a car wash before bringing it back. As you were leaving, your grandmother gave you a hug and told you to be careful, while your grandfather, sitting in his chair, shot you a look that both indicated that he knew you were full of it and that he was letting you go anyways. Well, in the spirit of being honest, you did go out to the country, you did have friends with you, and you did see the sights. And as for that poor Buick, it honestly doesn’t look much worse for the wear than when you pulled out of the driveway, does it? Grandpa would be proud of you.
And no wheelcovers were lost during the filming…..
Seriously, the GM W body, the 3800 and the Buicks in general were engineering triumphs – underrated, unappreciated, unloved but better than ever given credit for
looks like another installment of roadkill to me
