Some things just aren’t a good idea. Petting a gator that’s growing is a good example. Gas station sushi with no time stamp…yep, that’s a bad idea. Going to anywhere Robby Gordon is racing thinking that you have a hope in Hell of beating him to the finish line…not good, pal. Gordon is a Renaissance man of racing. He’s the kind of guy who does good regardless of what he is wheeling and he’s been that way for decades at this point. He’s even got his own racing series. How many signs do you need to know that you might have stepped in a hot brown one?
Don’t tell Cleetus McFarland that. At some point recently, he decided he was Superman. He paired off with RTR Racing’s “Fun Haver Flight Squad”, talked his way into a Stadium Super Truck, and wound up in a race on the Long Beach course. Let’s recap: the rare Florida Giraffe got shoved into an off-roader’s dream machine, put onto a street course that doesn’t suffer fools easily, with a pack of maniacs being led by ringmaster himself as competition. The impressive thing isn’t that he survived. It’s that up until the final corner, he was leading this race, with Gordon trying to bite his heels. You’ll see what happened when you play the video, but for a first race…dude, respect.
