This 1953 Pontiac RV Would Make A Great Vacation Vehicle For When You Want To Just Get Away

This 1953 Pontiac RV Would Make A Great Vacation Vehicle For When You Want To Just Get Away

Sometimes you just want to pack up a bag and take off for a week to somewhere quiet and peaceful, away from work, away from the daily grind. The less you have to drag around, the better, and instead of spending tons of money on hotels, you could just camp out someplace picturesque for a few days to let your batteries recharge. “Camping” means different things to different people, of course, but having a small RV is a good compromise between a Class A motorhome and living like Bear Grylls in the woods somewhere. Unless you’re bent on catching your breakfast out of the creek with your teeth, all you need is shelter and a place comfortable enough to rest your head, and that’s where this 1953 Pontiac comes in. Originally an ambulance, the car was converted over to be a recreational vehicle in the 1960s. What it lacks in a streamlined design it makes up for with simplicity: the small stove, sink and fridge are all of the bells and whistles. There’s one table with two bench seats and the bed area should be enough to house an adult comfortably enough. Power comes from a 302ci engine, which we will assume is the GMC six-cylinder, and goes through an automatic transmission. The car isn’t perfect but it is drivable, and is up for sale in Seattle for $3900.
