Run 10 Seconds The Quick And Easy Way – Buy This 1979 Chevy Malibu!

Has Drag Week or any of the other racing really ramped up that itch of yours to finally find something to go hit the track with? Do you just want to get out there and get going, instead of piecing together your own car over the next few years? eBay is a gold mine for finding some decent race cars, and while the normal find is a roller that just needs a motor, sometimes you can get lucky and find a complete, ready-to-rock setup that only needs your name on the car to be complete. Such is the case with this 1979 Chevrolet Malibu coupe.

The paint is up to you, but an at-press-time buy-in of $16K for easy 10s in the quarter sounds awesome to us. Wire up lights, add turn signals and wipers, and you’d be set! Or run the Chevy as-is and have a riot. Either way, it’s not like you’re losing…

Spectating at Drag Week this year was similar to attending my first HRPT. Yep, gotta do this for real now. My 80 Malibu is very similar to the 79 Lemans that came in runner up in the SME 32 car shootout, so I’ll be working on it.

As for the Malibu pictured, I’d add a Gear Vendors or swap to a 4L80e, then drive the heck out of it.

Sadly I don’t have room or time for more toys and that would just nearly wipe out my toy budget. 🙁

Now a roller for 1/4 -1/3 the price and I’d be in trouble because I have just enough of an itch to go crazy scratching.
