Florida Is Getting In The Street Outlaws Game! Pass Time’s “Big Schwag” Leads The Charge

Florida Is Getting In The Street Outlaws Game! Pass Time’s “Big Schwag” Leads The Charge

The Florida Street Outlaws group has become the talk of the street racing web recently, and so when the group launched their website we decided to check it out. First off, the Florida Street Outlaws do not street race. They are racing on a completely scraped and unprepared track so simulate street conditions, but they do not want to be associated with street racing. With that said, we’re sure that quite a few of the bad boys competing to be on the Top 10 list, have turned a tire or two on public roads. Brett “Big Schwag” Wagner is leading the charge on this one at the request of some racers and fans. And so it has begun, the Florida Street Outlaws Top 10 List.

Do you wanna get on the list? Do you have a drag car that is worthy? Can you hang on a scraped and unprepped race track? And are you available February 8th? If you answered yes to all of these, then get it on big boy! February 8th at Lakeland Dragstrip Schwag and the gang will be putting on their first event. You can get on the list if you show up and can be one of the big dogs. Keep in mind, there are a lot of heavy hitters that say they are coming. We’ll see, and hope to have one or two BangShift.com Contributors on site to grab all the action. We’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime here is the story from Schwag himself.

What Are We About…

Being born and raised in Daytona Beach, FL racing and motor sports has been in my blood since birth and just a natural fit. While working a Drag Racing event with Holeshot Performance Wheels I was asked to start the Top 10 Street Outlaw list in Florida.  It was then that Florida Street Outlaws was bornand here we go.

The mission is  to focus on what Florida Racers and Manufacturers have to offer to the world. We are keeping the Top 10 list of the baddest Street Outlaws in the State of Florida while offering all Street Outlaws a chance to compete in a safe environment for Your spot.

We are committed to taking Street Racing to the track. In a safer & secure place for all to enjoy. We are locked in at Lakeland Drag Strip for Saturday Feb 8, 2014.

Our kids today see racing on TV and think it is cool and in some cases regard these racers as heroes. They need to know that Street Racing is illegal and extremely dangerous and never a good choice.  We scrape the track to bare concrete and use no prep to simulate real street conditions.  Minus the traffic lights, stop signs and police chases we run heads up street cars and trucks for a spot on the Top 10 List.

All races are 1/8 mile.

Any Tire,  Any Engine,  Any Power Adders Import or Domestic cars and trucks.

We don’t start the race on a arm drop, flashlight or flag.  We use a .400 Pro Tree to keep it fair and transparent.

There are no Times displayed, just the win light.

Designed for the everyday racer and great family fun.

No Clocks, No Prep, No Problems. Put them in the beams and get on the Florida Top 10 Street Outlaw list and your share of the money.

Is this “Pass Time” Wagner’s bit to cash in on becoming the next Rich Christensen (minus the “gun show” arm drop)?

Is the “Street Outlaws” fad about to become like the storage auction and pawn shop shows . . . a proliferation of little “copy cat” programs on competing networks?

He did an appearance at lebanon valley dragway for the MA street outlaws race too… he would have to screw up a lot to become that toolshed… Big Swag is the man

I like the concept and I will be there. With what happened to Paul Walker I believe this kind of racing is right on point. Do it on the track and not on the street. I hope they have a good set of safety rules.

I know the draw is the Street Outlaw part but the safety of the participants and spectators, not to mention the uninvolved public needs to be considered, race on a track, without the timing lights. Other than that RACE ON!

The OK show is getting so scripted it’s not even worht watching. All of the sudden those jabronis have money each have their own shop like Big Chief and Shawn have? Doing test hits on the street and nearly getting busted every episode is so staged. Mean while they have the same race spot every week but no cops show up?

    All races are 1/8 mile.
Any drag race shorter than 1/4 mile is for sissies. Must have been started by a bunch of small block Chevy fans.

Glad to see its going to be on a track, rather than on the street like the Oklahoma Hillbillys.

I’ll be there – should be fun. I always like the 1/8 mile sissy talk. The 1/4 mile guys need lots more time to “git ‘er done” I guess. Maybe the “slowpars” need more time to get up to speed.

Brett is simply making an appearance at the event. Feel free to contact me anytime for more details. Thanks for the support. This is going to be epic.

Giving me way to much credit on this Im just coming in to make a appearance. Joe miller and fl street outlaws are the brains of getting the cars where they should be on the track. Going to be awesome

This is another indicator of “real” drag racing losing entertainment value.
So we have shit like this to muddy up the waters.
The OK street outlaws thing would put you to sleep if it were on a legit dragstrip.

I agree and it seems that most of the people who want to be a part of street racing scene are just not willing to conform to alot of the rules that have been put up by the different Racing organizations. Sure their are people who cry and whine that they dont like all the rules. But when your putting a Bomb thats able to literally blow up in any direction while possibly doing 140 mph with a Driver who’s only training in handleing a situation like this has been minimal at best your basically begging to get inocent people hurt. And I for one dont believe that any amount of Fame or being on a list does not trump the safety of all who want to watch. I think its a Dumbass Idea and its going to take people getting hurt to make it Real Stupid Real Quick!!!!

Well boys we all like a good challenge and racing on a unprepared surface with a 4 second car is definatly showing your rockers are a little loose. The chance that people who have never done this kind of racing will be very evident when they start loosing control and damaging their beloved Hot Rods. Street racing as a wholehas been around as long as the cars But if your racing on a controlled strip even though its not prepped doesnt that take away the Outlaw part and maybe we should replace that word with Idiot’s. I am just saying to do this without any type of track prep and really a no rule’s scenario is truly a recipe for disaster. Why not open up a new class of racer and put some type of control over it that not only protects the drivers and their high dollar cars but also the people who love watching this Real Street type of Racing. Just seems like the right way to grab a Tiger by the Tail.

Well…here in NJ we do street race and have afew spots that we use and get lucky with no cops but we do switch it up. We don’t do any lane prep, no construction lights lighting up the area, yes we do use 2 way radios for security and scope out the area. Because of us they formed the Ocean County Drag Racing Task force. I have been busted one time for street racing and it was not a fun day! If you want to be in the game you need to know what you are doing!
