The inaugural O’Reilly Auto Parts Grand National Truck Show will celebrate trucks, vans and SUVs of every make, model and style at Pomona Fairplex September 16-17. The premier truck-only event is hosted by Rod Shows, known for producing the popular Grand National Roadster Show in Februarys.
The Grand National Truck Show, presented by LMC Truck and Classic Truck Performance magazine, is open to all types and styles of trucks, vans and SUVs regardless of year, make or model. Awards will be given in over 35 judged classes, including best display, paint, interior, engine, detailing and more.
Eighteen custom trucks will compete for the weekend’s biggest award, the inaugural World’s Most Beautiful Truck award presented by ARP Fasteners. This year’s entries run the gamut from early Fords to late-model Chevys and everything in between. The winner of the coveted prize will receive $12,500 and a custom trophy.
“Each year we’ve seen the growing popularity of trucks, SUVs and vans among collectors, builders and customizers, so we wanted to create a show to celebrate these hard-working showpieces,” said John Buck, owner of Rod Shows. “The response to the Grand National Truck Show has been outstanding so far and we can’t wait to see everyone in Pomona.”
The weekend will also feature the popular Grand National Truck-In, a two-day outdoor portion of the show, open to all years and styles of trucks. It’s the perfect place to cruise in with your truck, hang out with your club and maybe even take home an award. Two-day Truck-In pre-registration is $80, which includes show admission for two, a dash plaque and a goody bag. Single-day on-site registration is $50 per day (cash only).
Those looking for a little friendly competition will want to sign up for the Grand National Truck Show Cornhole Tournament. With $3,500 in total prize money on the line, competitors will go head-to-head in single-day tournaments on both Saturday and Sunday.
Some of the best pin stripers in the country will donate their talents to the popular Pin Striper Charity Auction by creating custom art to be auctioned off for charity. For a minimal donation, attendees can bring a cell phone, laptop or other item to get pinstriped for a great cause. All proceeds benefit the Volunteers for Veterans Foundation.
The Grand National Truck Show will be open to the public Saturday, September 16, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, September 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Adult admission is $20 each day, $10 for children ages 6 to 12 and children under 5 are admitted free. Parking is $17 per vehicle.
