Cordless Drills: Is Buying Top Models Even Worth It These Days? Or Is Cheap All You Need At Home?

Cordless Drills: Is Buying Top Models Even Worth It These Days? Or Is Cheap All You Need At Home?

We share a lot of tool testing here on BANGshift, and honestly that’s not just because I’m a tool nut. Nope, it’s also because I can’t afford to buy all those high dollar tools. I just can’t. So I’m the guy that is looking at what will do the job for me, at a price I can afford. And part of that kind of decision making is also about knowing what you are really going to be doing with your tools. I know a lot of guys that have expensive mechanic or construction level tools who NEVER use them to that level. They aren’t making a living building houses or working on cars. Let me put it another way.

If you buy a high dollar drill for example, but use it only for DIY projects and normal at home “stuff”, you will use it a fraction of the amount of times that a professional construction working would each year. This is important, because the term “lifetime” depends on usage. A high dollar tool might last a lifetime for a construction worker. But it would last 5 lifetimes for a DIYer. Or 10. Or 30. So with that example, wouldn’t you think that something cheaper might also last a lifetime for you, when you are going to use it a fraction of the number of times? Yeah. Think about it.

So watch the latest video from the Torque Test Channel, as he’s going to test expensive and cheap drills to find out if there really is a reason to buy the expensive stuff for most folks.
