The Hot Rod Hoarder Has A 1966 Nova Project, And It’s Done! This Thing Is Driver Perfection With An Automatic, A/C And A 6-Cylinder.

If you are anything like me, you have bought a running and driving project that is fun to drive and works well and then the very first time something goes wrong with it you tear into the entire thing and engine swap it, do suspension, etc, etc, etc. And about 25% of the time it isn’t as good as it was before. LOL It’s true! It happens to all of us, so when I saw this project from Tommy Lee Byrd, that is a cool little Nova anyone would want, but that still has the original 6 cylinder under the hood, I laughed and said “Good job!” It’s been in the family for years, but has gotten some love and is driver quality perfection in my book.

Check it out in the feature video below and let us know what you think.

Video Description:

6 Cylinder, automatic with A/C sure has a nice ring to it, and it makes for such a nice-driving, easy-going project car. My father-in-law bought this car in the ’90s and kept it all these years. We did a driver-quality paint job on it and updated some of the suspension and brakes. Yes, we could’ve swapped in a big motor, yes we could’ve done a lot of things differently, but the straight six combination was just too good to mess up. Take a look at the “finished” product, although I never claim anything as truly finished. At some point, we’ll address the interior and a few other details, but the car is presentable and fun to drive as is.
