We love cordless tool reviews and are well known for being all about bang for your buck around here. And who isn’t, especially nowadays. We can all agree that Milwaukee is a premier cordless tool brand, but Hercules and some of the other low cost cordless brands are making huge strides to compete with the big names. So when I saw that TimWelds was testing out the new Hercules cordless 12v right angle die grinder I thought it was worth a share.
In fact, I just had a conversation at the races this last weekend with a friend about the “big name” cordless tools vs some of the lower cost alternatives and he had a similar opinion to mine. That opinion was that, for most people who are only using their tools occasionally, going with a more budget friendly option is probably the right way to go. If the high end brand, like the Milwaukee in this case, is more durable and longer lasting then it might be the right choice for someone using the tool all day, every day. But maybe not, because this Hercules has a five year warranty. And even if it didn’t, you could buy a couple over your lifetime and still spend less than the expensive brand.
It’s something to think about, but certainly no dig on the Milwaukee as we all know they build quality tools.
