U-Haul is known for not only renting trucks and vans of all shapes and sizes, but also a variety of different trailers as well. They are insanely popular with the drag and drive crowd, and one cool thing is that a lot of their open and car hauler trailers have unique features you’ll only find on U-Haul trailers. But where are they made? I know people who have researched this in an attempt to go buy their own, but have never seen a tour of the factory until now! Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
And in the comments below, tell us which U-Haul truck or trailer is your favorite.
Video Description:
I had the chance to step inside the U-Haul manufacturing facility in Tempe, Arizona, to see firsthand how these trailers are built from the ground up. This is where U-Haul produces not only the new Toy Hauler but also their entire lineup of rental trailers. Instead of just renting one and testing it like I did before, this time I got to walk the factory floor, talk with the team, and watch the process that brings all of these trailers to life.
In this video, I take you behind the scenes of U-Haul’s production line. From raw steel to finished product, you will see the steps it takes to build the Toy Hauler trailers you have been asking about along with the same facility that cranks out the enclosed trailers, open utility trailers, and more that you see at every U-Haul location. The triple-ramp setup, the drive-over fenders, the heavy-duty deck are all there, but now you get to see how it actually comes together inside U-Haul’s own plant.
For anyone curious about how rental equipment is engineered or what goes into producing a trailer that can handle everything from cars and side-by-sides to motorcycles and off-road rigs, this is a rare look inside the process. And like always, this video is not sponsored. I was invited to tour the plant because I wanted to give you a transparent look at what U-Haul is building right here in Arizona.
If you have ever wondered what it takes to produce thousands of trailers for people like us to rent and haul with, you will not want to miss this inside tour.
