Randy Pobst can wheel a race car, and on too many occasions to count we’ve seen him do it. But he also enjoys a quick and fast street car which means that upgrades are often in order. In this video series we’ll see his 1977 Pontiac Trans Am get some suspension love. But don’t think that this is some old original worn out machine that is getting the upgrades so they can show a huge improvement. No, this car has had a bunch of work done to it to get it into ship shape, and now it’s time for more.

In episode three of our series with Randy’s Randit Trans Am, we get down into the weeds of what makes our complete suspension systems so transformative. When installed on classic cars, they dramatically improve handling and one of the key ways they do that is in the alignment department. 

While having upgraded suspension components on your car is always great, sometimes performance gains can be lost in translation if you don’t have the proper alignment to take advantage of what you’ve just installed.

When it comes to an alignment, street cars have a different mission and purpose than a car that is setup to excel on the track. Randy and Blane dive into the finer points of setting up an alignment for either purpose, discussing the concepts between camber, caster, and toe.
