Most anywhere in America, you can find a car cruise of some type during the summer months. It might take a little investigation or a short drive but they can be found, and can vary from a few cars to giant shows like Somernites in Somerset, Kentucky or the Pavillions Cruise in Tempe, Arizona. Usually there is a decent enough mix of cars present and the shows are low-key affairs that accept pretty much anyone.
In Bowling Green, there is a weekly cruise at Bruster’s Ice Cream hosted by Crusin’ For A Cure, who focus on raising funds for juvenile diabetes research. Held in a former Kroger’s parking lot behind Bruster’s, local cars of all shapes and conditions come out to relax for a couple of hours and enjoy the cooler evening hours. I’d been meaning to come out to this cruise for a while now but hadn’t been able to until this week. It’s a relaxing way to kill a Tuesday night, with the sun setting a little bit earlier. There was a nice cool breeze in the air and the crowd was low key and friendly, with groups of spectators wandering around checking out the rides.
