Watch This Sleeper Dodge Work Truck Run 12.50/100 – Heck Of A Hay Hauler!

Today you literally never know what’s sitting next to you at a traffic light or at the tree at the strip. Back in the day if you wanted a 12 second pickup truck it would have been a pretty loud and obnoxious deal that even the most green racers would have “seen” from a mile away. Today? Today you can have a truck that you work on your farm Monday through Friday and then dip out to the track with on Saturday night and send guys into fits of hysterics. Until the driver stands on the throttle and this thing throws some smoke out of the exhaust pipes (which ARE NOT stacks, BTW) you’d never know this as being anything than a nice work truck with its flatbed all polished up.

The lack of drama in this 12-second, 100mph squirt is pretty awesome in itself. It doesn’t chatter the tires of hunt around. The truck just digs in and gets gone the way that it should. 12s is quick. 12.50s is quicker than stock Mustangs and Camaros go, especially with guys who can’t shift to save their mother’s life. The point we’re making is that a 12.5 second truck on the street is an absolute cleaning machine and we’d bet that when this Cummins engine is turned down it delivers stupid fuel economy as well.

The old days made it easier to spot a sneaky enemy, but the fact is that these are the greatest days of horsepower the world has ever known, bar none. This diesel truck would eat stock hemi, 427FE, and LS6 454 powered cars for lunch, and then tow them home lickety split. These are the good old days and trucks like this prove it.

And the best part is all you have to do is adjust the tuner (If your other mods are done of course). The downside is the parts are hella expensive. I thought I was headed for divorce when I got my intake and injectors. The best I’ve got out of mine is high 13s, but the lift and tires aren’t helping any.

I totally dig it. If it were mine I’d go full on sleeper and put some phoney construction company decals on the doors.
