Our seemingly endless photo coverage of the Hotchkis Autocross that was run during the NMCA West event in Fontana, California weekend continues! Today we have another fresh batch of images featuring the coolest and most BangShifty cars and trucks that were on the scene and being driven in anger. One of the interesting things you will see here is that there’s a pretty good percentage of guys foregoing the “show” looks for the “go” performance. Maybe they decided to skip the paint and go for those new trick shocks, upgraded control arms, or maybe they just drive their stuff so often they could not consider leaving it in paint jail for any stretch of time. Like the old 1950s hot rodder saying went, “Chrome don’t make it go!”
The El Camino below is a prime example of this. The hood may have come off of something at the wrecking yard, the front bumper walked off the job, and the rear quarter looks like it may have a slight wrinkle in it but as you can see, the thing is biting hard into a corner and the driver is having a riot. At the end of the day he can throw his stuff in the bed and cruise home. You can see race seats in the passenger area as well as the bars of a roll cage so this is one tough customer for sure.
Show quality shine or street tough looks…you pick ’em because they are both represented here!
