Because trucks are largely built for specific purposes be the race trucks, working trucks, or show trucks, it is hard to pick one specific style or model of rig that reigns supreme over all others, BUT there are a few that make a valid argument for themselves and maybe none more convincingly than the Kamaz 4911 which most of you know loosely as, “those insane Russian trucks that win the Dakar rally every year”. These are 650hp anvils that fly and speed along at velocities we can barely fathom while doing it over terrain that would stop most tanks. The videos of them jumping, drifting, and slinging about are legendary and draw tens of thousands of clicks on YouTube on a bad day. Now you can own one. A rally prepped one!
While this Kamaz 4911 was not an official rally competitor (as best we can tell by the ad) it has been constructed to the same specs as the other trucks that do actively race. We’re guessing this is kind of a pre-runner or maybe a mule truck used for testing or other purposes. It has a 650hp diesel that makes 2,500 lb/ft of torque, it has a 16-speed transmission, bomb proof transfer case, worked up Wabco brakes, and the proven track record of being one of the toughest vehicles ever constructed for any purpose. These things get battered and bashed all while hauling parts for the race teams they are supporting. Drivers from all over the world clamor for the chance to race these trucks because being in one automatically means that you’ll be contesting for the win at Dakar.
We’re reasonably sure that this truck is still actually in Russia so you’ll need to put some serious faith in the system that it will be shipped here, allowed in the country, and that you will be able to do something with it. We cannot imagine that there are man Kamaz 4911s here in the USA right now. You’ll also need the low, low sum of $140,000 but how can you really put a price tag on this kind of cool? You clearly cannot!
We’re not going to declare the Kamaz 4911 but we are going to say that it is in the top five coolest trucks ever built the the ability to get one in this racing form seems to be pretty rare indeed. SO MANY WANTS!
