(Photos by Mike Mendenhall/RideTech) – Being a proudly Indiana-based company, when the Goodguys Rod and Custom tour comes to Indy, RideTech shows up in force. Last weekend that was the case as the autocross was being punished by a flotilla of RideTech cars and the show was populated by lots of cars with their suspension components on them as well. Mike Mendenhall scoured the massive event to bring us the coolest photos of both autocross competition and of the show field.
Believe it or not it was RideTech’s Bret Voelkel who climbed into the ears of Goodguys show organizers years ago and plead the case for adding an autocross to their events. After a couple of “try-outs” they adopted the format and have not looked back since. Those humble beginnings have morphed into events that have thousands of people hanging on the fences to watch, drivers who have evolved from weekend warriors to professionals, and the competition between manufacturers has spurned on more improvements, engineering advancements, and new parts than anyone could have imaged.
If you have a Goodguys show coming near your town get out there and participate! Burn some tires and turn some corners. Hey, if the RideTech guys are there, thank them for championing the cause!
