Let’s face it, we are easily excited around here, and have exaggerated on a few occasions. This is NOT one of those times. Without question, the new McLeod Pro Series Clutch is the baddest of the bad. This bad boy will handle up to 3000, yes 3000 horsepower and is available with a single, dual, or triple disc setup. Built with help from Boninfante Friction, the same guys that build Pro Stock and Top Fuel Clutches, the new McLeod Pro Series rounds out a lineup that includes applications for everything from Mild to Wild. With more and more street cars like Larry Larson’s Chevy II, and Joe Berry’s ’56 that are capable of running in the 6’s and making 2000 horsepower or more while weighing 3200 plus pounds, the Pro Series is becoming even more necessary. We are actually trying to figure out how to build an engine and a car that needs this thing just so we can have one of these clutches. Paul Lee, NHRA Funny Car Driver and Owner of McLeod, is the real deal car guy you would hope to see at the helm of a company like this, and knew that someone needed to bring the baddest street clutch ever to the market. We think McLeod has done it.

MCLEOD RACING AND BONINFANTE FRICTION JOIN FORCES TO INTRODUCE
THE MCLEOD PRO SERIES OF CLUTCHES
McLeod Racing Pro Series Designed to Be The Ultimate 10” Street/Strip Clutch Package
Placentia, CA – January 16, 2012 –McLeod Racing LLC is proud to join forces with Boninfante Friction to bring the 10” street/strip clutch package to a whole new level. McLeod has been building cutting edge driveline products for over 40 years. By teaming with Boninfante Friction the Pro Series brings two of leading designers of clutches together to design a clutch package that is now the standard by which all others are judged.
The McLeod Racing Pro Series is available in single, twin and triple plate designs. The modular design easily allows for use in cars from 800-3000 hp, depending upon the number of discs used. The single disc version will handle up to 1500 hp, the twin up to 2000 hp and the triple an astounding 3000 hp.
Many of the components are made from lightweight yet incredibly strong 6061 T6 Billet aluminum and CNC machined to incredibly tight tolerances.
What makes this clutch unique from most on the market is it’s fully adjustable spring pressure, adjustable stands and counter-weighted levers.
“I think it’s awesome that we were able to bring much of the technology used in very high end drag cars to the street/strip market,” says Paul Lee, NHRA Driver and McLeod Racing owner. “It has been a desire of ours to exceed the standard designs of our competition and take the Pro Series to a bold and exciting new level.”
Included with any of our Pro Series clutches are an aluminum flywheel, a choice of sintered iron or metallic discs, ARP hardware, pre-set height gauge and weight kit.
The Pro Series kits are now available, along with McLeod’s full line of performance driveline products, from any of McLeod’s group of distributors worldwide.
still waiting on their 5 spd gear box that they teased us about years ago.
Watch for it coming soon. I mean really soon. They have just gotten the new tailhousing castings in and are starting to machine them. This means that they will be ready to sell within weeks. Stay tuned, we’ll let you know when to get your credit card out!
