Land Speed Racing season is open! As we await the first running of the Ohio Mile by our pals at the ECTA, the Texas Mile recently held their first event of 2012 and there were some serious haul ass machines there. We pulled two videos out of the pile that are pretty damned impressive. The first one is a 4th gen Camaro, reportedly making something like 1800hp and the second one is of a highly modified Ford GT with Hennessey twin turbo motivation. While both videos are pretty drama free and there is no explosions or wreckage, it is pretty neat to watch two screaming muscle cars run faster than a million dollar Veyron can and in a lot shorter distance. A 250-mph Camaro? Hells yes! A 250mph Ford GT? Double Hells yes!
We think that the new course that the ECTA will be running on at Wilmington, Ohio can yield some crazy numbers like this. It is reportedly as smooth as a billiard table and with a highly accessible location, cars are coming out of the woodwork to lay down the thunder in April. Check out the videos below and get to scheming up your 200mph drivetrain modifications!
Very cool!
Not going to lie though: If I had to pick between “World’s fastest” (Top Speed) or “World’s quickest” (Fastest acceleration), I’d go with quickest any day of the week given that there’s not too many places in the world where you can go 200+ MPH.
sweet!!… Bonneville is a bucket list for sure, but shorter standing and flying mile courses are the next best thing right?
Cool
Upgrade your cages, get some door nets and arm restraints and hope to see you at Wilmington some day!!!
That camaro sounded evil..
