This is the Russian dash/helmet cam video that takes Russian dash/helment cam videos to the next level. It takes about 18-seconds, literally, for things to go from normal to nightmare for the motorcycle rider in this video. The guy is driving down the highway, minding his own business and not doing anything that we’d consider reckless. It all comes undone when he takes an exit ramp off the highway and lays the bike down at a pretty decent rate of speed.
All of this is being captured by a camera mounted on his helmet, much like the dashboard mounted cameras mounted in seemingly every Russian car ever made. As the bike lays down and the rider slides with it toward the guardrail it is nearly impossible not to flinch. When he and the bike crash into said guardrail, we physically recoiled. The footage is friggin’ amazing.
Even more amazing is the fact that soon after the wreck, like seconds later, the rider is checking his extremities and then gathering the parts and pieces of his shattered bike off of the highway. As the video ends it looks like a police officer has arrived at the scene. We’re thinking the Russian cops don’t like to play “candid camera” and the footage cuts off.
This is crazy stuff and thankfully the rider walked (sorely, we’re sure) away!
the good, the bad, and that wet spot he crossed
Looks like he hit a streak of antifreeze, Much slicker than plain water.
I’m not much of a motorcylcist, but shouldn’t you try to avoid stuff like that on the road, not ride in it?
Video doesn’t play =/
It would appear YouTube didn’t like the video and removed it.
