This is a mind-blowing, nearly 2-minute commercial from back when GM was in a good mood. The piece from 1961 looks more like the opener for a Doris Day comedy than it does a car commercial, but it does give us the urge to drive a ’61 Impala without a seat belt while wearing a plaid smoking jacket. We’d enjoy the “Jet Smooth Ride.” It seems not too many Chevy ad people had yet been on a jet in 1961.
