It seems like a good new year’s resolution to decide to drive your car instead of just polishing it. The guys at Hot Rod magazine are trying to push show-car owners in that direction with a new deal called the Power Tour Challenge, and it’s sponsored by Ridetech. The staff of Hot Rod picked 26 cars on display at the 2009 SEMA show and invited the owners to bring them on the 1,100-mile Power Tour in June, as long as they were willing to drive them and not trailer them.
Seems like a bold move, and one that many builders will not like, because Hot Rod made the invitiation public and the article we read online says that the invite list will be at HotRod.com, in Hot Rod magazine, and on Hot Rod TV. So far only six of the 26 cars invited have agreed to the challenge. This should be interesting to follow.
