Craigslist Find: A 1979 Olds Cutlass That Bridges The Gap Between Trar And Donk – Not That It’s A Good Thing

Craigslist Find: A 1979 Olds Cutlass That Bridges The Gap Between Trar And Donk – Not That It’s A Good Thing

For so long we’ve seen trars and donks exist on slightly different planes. Now a brave individual has decided to bridge the seemingly impossible gap between a trar and a donk with this 1979 Olds Cutlass in Michigan. Sure, you are looking at this thing and saying that it is all trar but you’re wrong. The paint is donk-ish, the vinyl roof is totally riding the train to donk-town, and the faux Louis Vuitton interior? Yeah, that’s so donk it hurts.

The car is basically a 1979 Cutlass body mounted on an 1985 K5 Blazer chassis and running gear. It has a 350, locking hubs, 700R4 transmission, and 35-inch mud tires. Even the seller appears to be trying to appeal to the donk demographic with his vague statement at the end of the ad, “ready for rims or mud….your choice.” Your choice indeed.

It seems a bold move to put a white interior into a vehicle designed for mud bogging and off roading, but obviously this guy doesn’t live his life by the rules, so we should have expected it. The juxtaposition of the high end Louis Vuitton material on the seats and the rubber floor mats really depicts the inner struggle between donk and trar that is at play here. Lots to think about.

Oh come on now, don’t hate… This thing was obviously built to do one thing. Be driven pedal-down into and over anything, and beaten within and inch of it’s puke green life… and you all would do it with a grin on your face… I would

WOW. I’m not sure what I dislike more – the LV interior or the mudders – but I LOVE the creativity. Anyone with the stones to build this would be fun to hang with.

Keep the mudders, but have a set of 36″ wheels for cruisin. I’m sure a really confused redneck will snap this up.

I just realized there’s no door panels on it. I don’t know why that strikes me as funny, but it does.

So bad it’s good. I think this monstrosity is fantastic. They took a stock-ugly car, and uglified it more, and more, and more, until it became somehow sublime.

Honestly, it looks like it would be fun to raise hell with, and a complete laugh. With a rainbow-print faux-Louie interior, you surely couldn’t be taking yourself too seriously!
