Bubba Watson is one of the best golf players in the world. He’s sponsored by Oakley, which is one of the coolest companies in the world because they commission stuff like a freaking hovercraft golf cart to be built and test out by Bubba Watson. When we grow up we’re going to be like Oakley and a number of other companies (think energy drinks!) who host weirdo contests, build crazy stuff, and generally are brilliant about keeping their name in the spotlight by brilliant means.
You don’t have to give a rip about professional golf to be into this video. It is awesome to see Watson cruising around the course, over water traps, and across greens in his BW1 golf hovercraft. It had to be fun as hell to shoot this video, especially for a guy who essentially lives at the golf course and is probably dying for any excuse to goof off and have a good time. The older guy who was there from the hovercraft company was unintentionally funny when describing in serious detail what was retained from a stock golf cart, which is the roof.
We now want a hovercraft bad! How cool would that project be? The BangShift hovercraft would definitely have multiple stages of nitrous on it. We’d probably both get killed on its first outing. Someday we’ll have funds like Oakley to “invest” on stuff like this hovercraft. Our stuff will be way cooler, but this is good inspiration.
