We’re gearing up to go check out a tractor pull next weekend so when we were cruising RacingJunk.com for neat stuff this week, our one-track mind led us to search out pulling trucks. Once we laid eyes on this killer truck that features a flip up Chevy body, a big-inch Steve Schmidt racing engine, and the bad ass name, “The Helltown Lynch mob,”it was love at first sight.
To start with, the motor is a freaking monster. Based on a 4.9″ bore spacing Dart block, it is topped with Pro-Filer heads, and a fuel system spec’d out by noted pulling world experts, the Holman brothers. There’s a sheet metal tunnel ram and a pair of big single pot injectors on top. The stack-style headers must make some awfully sweet music when the loud pedal is flat on the floor.
The truck sports some sort of “military” axle in the front and a big ol’ Rockwell monster out back. The chassis is all custom built and judging by the fact that the machine is equipped with a Pro Fab reverser, we’re thinking that it is running a slipper clutch and a lenco to transfer the power from front to back.
Our sick minds keep thinking about the reaction of the neighbors when we hit the key and fired this beast on a Sunday morning to work on the tune-up.
