(Words and photos by Tommy Lee Byrd) – There’s one thing about a small town car show, especially one located in the South—you’re almost guaranteed to see some pretty cool stuff. Even if there is a weak turnout, you’ll likely see vehicles that pay homage to the creativity and ingenuity that only the Southern portion of the United States can provide. This past weekend, we proved it with a visit to the Dayton, Tennessee Community Car Show.
A few weeks ago, we posted a gallery from a cruise night in this same small town, but oddly enough, it was a completely different scene. Tommy Lee Byrd lives in Dayton, so he supported the event, driving his ’64 Corvette, and also sent us a gallery of photos. So, check out the gallery and take note of the hot rod tractor, the Levi’s edition Gremlin X (complete with denim interior) and of course, the General Lee and Rosco P. Coltrane’s police car, which made laps around the park in “hot pursuit”. The show had imports, slammed trucks, and even an Edsel thrown in the mix
