Would You Drive It? A 1972 Toyota Corolla Road Race Machine We Found On Ebay

We dig old iron. Even the import stuff like this little 1972 Corolla, although we could live without what appears to be a miniature Chevy Monte Carlo front end on the thing. We even have video of this little bastard hauling ass on the road coarse. Oh, and it’s for sale, so you could own this turbo charged 300 horsepower beast and race it yourself. But would you? That’s the real question here. Would you drive it?

If Adam Carolla would drive it then so would I. (pssst: it’s “Corolla”)

Don’t care for the body style. Now if its a Datsun 510 similar to Pete Brock’s BRE car, then I’ll be interested!

Hell yeah! These cars when modified right are a blast to drive. Back in the mid 80’s I had a 78 Corolla with a Japan only engine called a 2TG shoved in it. This was a twin cam twin side draft carbureted engine. Had the car lowered and yellow Koni sports for the the suspension mods. Used to take it up to the local road racing track (Summit Point in WV) with the local Corvette Club when they needed extra bodies to pay for the track day. Aside from getting blown off down the 1 mile front strait by the Vettes and Camaros, they hated me because they couldn’t shake me on the corners nor get around me….LOL. The best part was terrorizing the MR2s, RX-7s and 944s. Oh and BTW, it was a station wagon….

Sure would, just as soon as I tore off that GM front end and burned it! Those early ’70’s Corolla’s are very cool cars. Under 2 grand when they were brand new! I had a ’71 SR5, and it was a hot little car. This one would have to be a blast!
