BangShift member at large BigDad found this video and posted it in our forum section the other day. It basically depicts the automotive equivalent of trying hard at gym class and then crapping your pants in front of the entire school. What do we mean? Well let’s say you have a hot rodded Duramax diesel truck and you’re going to participate at a local “run for fun” legal street race in a nearby town.

When it comes time to make your lap, you find yourself sitting next to a classic early 1960s Plymouth. When the tree comes down the Plymouth gets a huge jump (tell your pals you were building boost and not sleeping at the line) and quickly begins to make tracks away from you. Rather than pedal your truck to get some traction, you decided to lay the accelerator onto the floor and allow the rear tires to blaze away as your 7,000lb truck picks up more and more steam.

Uh oh….things are getting loosey-goosey as you near the finish line and the truck starts to slide. You end up putting a couple tires off into the grass, then over correcting, and then crashing your truck through the finish line marker and timing lights. According to BigDad, this crash ended the event. The roll was super gentle in the truck and apparently the driver was able to cruise it back home without incident. That’s the good news, no one was hurt.

The bad news was the whole party foul of rolling your truck in a completely unnecessary showboating move when you were already losing the race badly. We’re glad that he didn’t collect up that cherry Plymouth in the process.
