Guerilla Shop Tour: Chuck’s Classic Cars, AKA Mopar Heaven

When our pal Matt Graves at Cherry Bomb told us that he was stopping by a shop and was going to send us some photos we were excited to see the photos. When we actually saw what was at this place, we were flabbergasted. How crazy is the stuff at this shop? There are several large crates marked “Hurst Hemi” on a shelf that have never been opened.

Graves first learned of the shop when they had Chuck do some work on the Cherry Bomb Dodge truck. He had never been the place before dropping the truck off and quickly discovered an amazing collection of Hemi Mopar stuff, an El Camino powered by a Chevy R07 Sprint Cup motor, and a host of other restoration projects going on.

The most significant single car at the location is Don Grotheer’s ’68 Hemi Barracuda. This was a pre-production car, serial number 0. This was the car that Grotheer toured the country with and put on the Chrysler Supercar Clinics. He’d stop at dealers and teach hordes of kids how to hot rod their cars for better performance. It also helped rope young guys into becoming die hard Mopar buyers.

Oh, and the wagon? That’s a two door long roof with a four speed and a cross rammed wedge motor in the front.

We’ll share Matt’s photos below and a link to see the work that goes down in Chuck’s shop. This place is amazing!
