Watch Jason Michalak Make The Quickest Drag Radial Pass In History – 3.87!

It was late March of 2015 when we were all freaking out that Jacon Michalak had run 3.97 seconds in the eighth mile during the Outlaw Street Car Reunion in Memphis, Tennessee. The vaunted “3s in the freeze” run took place between snow squalls and knocked the world of radial tire drag racing on its keister for a minute. Through the rest of the year others have touched the threes but not by a whole lot. Well, once again Jason Michalak has reset the performance bar again, this time running 3.87 seconds and completely vaporizing previously held performance marks. He’s the first guy into the 3.80s on radials, period.

The Bad9er guys rely on power from a screw supercharged, alcohol burning, Brad Anderson hemi for their power and as you can see, they have figured out how to get virtually all of it down. This is the best part of the year for all of drag racing (in our opinion) because the atmospheric conditions at these races allow the competitors to make stupid power, the track prep procedures and products used by the tracks have the cars hooking hard, and there’s still more racing to go. Remember, we’re going to be LIVE at the 2015 PSCA Street Car Super Nationals in less than a couple weeks!

How long will this 3.87 stand? We’re thinking a while unless Jason Michalak bumps himself down because there has been no one else around living in that area of performance real estate. That’s for sure!

This is a 3,000b car and the common consensus is that there’s likely more to find in the combo. For the record, Michalak ran 3.89 in the finals proving that the 3.87 was not some sort of a weird fluke of a run. This is an incredible machine and you can watch it work in this great CompetitionPlus.com/Les Mayhew vdeo!
