Sweet mother of overkill, we have a winner. Steve Morris Engines just dropped a bombshell, unveiling an in-house built V-16 with quad turbochargers that is slated to appear in the much-hyped and much-criticzed Devel Sixteen hyper car. While we have our reservations about the Sixteen, the engine at least is in living form and has been undergoing dyno testing. The numbers speak for themselves: on 93 octane, this beast is cranking out 3,000 horsepower on 20psi of pressure. On C-16 race fuel, that number jumps up to 4,500 horsepower at 36 pounds of pressure. Check out the video below and let SME explain the warhead they have created.
Hey, Cadillac: in case the Devel Sixteen doesn’t pan out, you might want to get a halo car together…we have found you a proper motor for a proper halo car.
(Thanks to Greg Huizenga for the tip!)
way cool, but…. why?
Any info on the car this beast of an engine will reside?
Why don’t they slot this into Speed Demon and try to break that elusive 500mph barrier?
No doubt there will be a lot more LSR teams willing to take their hands off for this motor as well and sales of the supercar would be boosted by stating that it is powered by “The world’s fastest engine”!
The car has been a joke for years now, are you telling me this is an actual thing and not another con job?
holy crap this is insane
this is the first time i have ever heard of this
