Hot Rod Garage Kicks Off A Budget Buildup Of An $800 Camaro On The Cheap – Meet The “Bonemaro”!

Yep, this looks familiar. Apparently, I have some sort of magnetic draw for beaten and thrashed rubber-bumper second-generation Chevrolet Camaros. When they are clean and nice, they are alright. But the way I usually see them looks more like the car that Hot Rod Garage just paid $800 bucks for willingly. Is the phrase “beat like a truck” right? “Heat that duck”? I don’t know, I’ll think of the right words eventually, but calling this car “rough” is a vast understatement. But Tony Angelo has a vision, and Lucky Costa, who has been roped in as a full-time host instead of occasional help, work to turn this rolling tribute to disco music and tape-stripe muscle cars into something respectable and, dare I say it, badass. The main focus is low-buck here…so don’t expect too much. At least they found a Camaro with the factory-installed ratchet shifter, so there’s a start. And whoever coined the term “Bonemaro”…you’re fired.

I’m sorry, I missed the part where they said “unique” was one of the build qualifications. Oh, wait, they didn’t. Their goal was cheap and fast and at $800 it got the job done, especially with the glut of cheap Chevy parts out there. Sometimes the best too for driving nails is indeed a hammer.
